Our security window guards are a great economical solution for protecting all types of windows. Easy to install with 4 mounting screws, these window guards can be mounted either on the front or side of the window frame. Made from powder-coated steel, this 3 bar safety guard when mounted in the horizontal position fits openings from 23" to 42" wide and 25" to 30 7/8" high (mounted in the vertical position fits openings from 25" to 30 7/8" wide and 23" to 42" high.)
IMPORTANT: These security guards are not for windows which require opening in case of emergency

We picked up 8 of these for our house in the city. They're approved by the burrough, and my husband and me didn't have any problems putting them up ourselves. The fire inspector gave us this site's number, and they shipped them the same day for us, since we were getting inspected over the weekend.
The paint isn't as nice and fancy as the Goodbar ones we have at our house on Long Island, but Goodbars not approved on NY, and these were cheaper and faster anyways. For 30 bucks, a great deal and really worth putting up in the city these days.
